Charity and Community

"Being aware of the very high regard both the local business community and visiting professional speakers have for Mansfield 2020, we are delighted to have been winners of the Charity and Community Award for two consecutive years in 2007 and 2008.

Managing a charity that works to improve the lives of vulnerable adults is very rewarding, but it really is hard finding new funding streams and work.  Gaining some recognition for the way the business of the charity operates, is therefore very satisfying and gives everyone a boost.  We proudly display the 2020 award winning logo alongside our Queen's Award for Voluntary Services.

As we shall not enter the awards in 2009, we positively encourage other charities to enter and become a part of the 2020 family."

Innovation & Business Person of the Year

"ProNet Computers were very honoured to be awarded both the Business Person of the Year (for our MD, Nick Cooper) and Business Innovation Award at this year's 2020 Business Awards.  We felt that this was a tribute to the dedication and commitment of not only Nick, but our entire team and we are extremely proud that they should be recognised by the local business community for their excellent achievements.

Although belief in ability and achievement may be strong, entering awards can be time consuming, complicated and expensive.  We found the 2020 Awards to be very simple to enter and we have benefited from publicity both at the Awards ceremony and afterwards with press and radio coverage helping to increase awareness of our business and what we can offer.  The Innovation Award in particular reflects the pioneering new technologies and software, which ProNet develop to help client companies grow and become more efficient.

We entered the Awards because we believe that not only do they give the opportunity of recognition for achievement, but are a huge benefit in terms of highlighting the services we are able to offer businesses in our area.  As a result of our involvement in the Awards, we have forged several new business relationships which are proving to be of fantastic benefit to our organisation."

Business of the Year

“Fresh Marketing joined Mansfield 2020 networking organisation early 2007. This alone brought about many opportunities to increase our brand awareness, create business opportunities and find suppliers of a high standard.  Moreover, membership allowed us to stay close to the ‘heartbeat’ of Mansfield’s community and business.

One year later, we entered into the ‘Business of the Year’ award and won!  As a result, a large regional PR campaign was released which led to four or five further opportunities to write for business columns and promote Fresh.  For the business, the award has increased awareness of Fresh amongst local businesses, leading to higher web hits, more contacts and many incremental opportunities to do business.  For non-local businesses, the award acts as a differentiator for Fresh by way of an ‘approved quality mark’.

For us, the Directors, the award was a huge pat on the back for the tenacity, sound business approach and client results we had demonstrated in the year previous; a great motivator to achieve more and work even harder.
The process of applying was straight forward, well supported and free!  We had great fun during the process and even more, celebrating the outcome!”
